Ellen Willis, In Honor and Memory

Earlier this year, Ellen Willis agreed to let The "Second Wave" and Beyond reprint her provocative piece, "Escape from Freedom" in anticipation of a community discussion that she would lead about it, scheduled for November 11, 2006. However, on November 9th, she died of cancer. Her words have been an inspiration for many of us; her actions even more so.

In honor and memory of Ellen Willis (1941 - 2006), we open this space to remember her life, work, and impact on the women's movement.
